Lux Lives is a celebration of the life of Lux Interior who passed away 16 years ago this February. Lux Lives started in Scotland shortly thereafter. 12 years ago, Lux Lives East Coast was born and the first Lux Lives in America was held in Boston, Massachusetts. There have been shows all over the Northeast to raise money for Best Friends Animal Society in Lux’s name. Fans have gotten together to see bands, listen to music, and basically celebrate everything CRAMPS! Since then there have been Lux Lives events all over the globe!
This year we continue to explore one of Lux’s passions; Exploitation/Sexploitation films from cinema’s (sometimes) dark underbelly. Last year we put together a program of some trailers from Lux and Ivy’s Favorite Movies. This year, we will expand upon that and also show a recently re-released feature from 1968; the stunning and mind numbing BLONDE ON A BUM TRIP!
Blonde on a Bum Trip is the ULTIMATE sixties garage rock movie featuring an insanely infectious soundtrack and live footage of the Bit-a-Sweet rocking out to a crowd of East Village kids at Scott Muni’s The Rolling Stone discothèque!
Behind all the amazing music by the afore mentioned Bit-A-Sweet, there’s more great music by the E-Types and the Vagrants that propel the amazing story of Susan, an innocent small town chemistry major who falls in with the wrong crowd and gets convinced to make some LSD, which changes her life forever!

Then the Evil Streaks will hit the stage doing what they do best; paying tribute to one of our heroes. This is NOT a copycat tribute act, but a band paying tribute to one of our influences; The Cramps. Joining the band will be Boston’s longest running burlesque troupe, Thru the Keyhole Burlesque!
After that Blonde on a Bum Trip will blow your mind! One of the few films that could follow a live rock and roll band, because it features amazing 60’s Rock and Roll! Newly restored in 4K from the original camera negative, Blonde on a Bum Trip has never looked this amazing! See it on the BIG SCREEN!
Joining us for the event will be Something Weird Video’s head honcho Lisa Petrucci! We are thrilled that Lisa is again making the pilgrimage to Salem to join us for another Lux Lives! She will introduce the film and talk a little bit about the flick’s history.
